Arthur "Art" Roberts SSgt, USAF 1968-69

SSgt Roberts was stationed at Tan Son Nhut but also served as a volunteer at AFVN.

I was an Air Force SSgt, stationed at Tan Son Nhut and worked with the 460th Photo Recon Sq. Our outfit did the recon over North Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. Since I am a ham radio operator (W5AER) and photographer, I naturally acquired an interest in broadcasting. At AFVN Saigon, I usually did a day and a half a week, working on the TV side of things. I helped get the studio ready for shows, and got to work the audio board from the 6 pm news to sign off. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and appreciate being allowed to do this. During this time I did get to know a few of the guys. Rick on the FM side is one in particular. I was in country from May 68 to May 69. I auditioned at FEN Misawa AB, Japan, years earlier, but my voice just wasn't up to it. Thank you for allowing me to be on the list.
